 Draft Scout Kory Lichtensteiger News
01/09/13 - LG Kory Lichtensteiger, who tore his right ACL in Week 6 of 2011, recovered to start every game in 2012, although a sprained left ankle cut short his action in the finale and in the playoff loss.
01/04/13 - LG Kory Lichtensteiger didn't practice again on Thursday after departing in the third quarter of last Sunday's game against Dallas with a sprained left ankle. Josh LeRibeus, who replaced him against the Cowboys, would start against Seattle if Lichtensteiger's not ready to go in what should be a game-time decision.
01/04/13 - LG Kory Lichtensteiger sprained his left ankle in the regular-season finale against Dallas. He missed all three practices last week but worked out before Sunday's wild-card game with Seattle and decided he was good to go, in part because it was the first playoff game of six seasons. "I went out there," Lichtensteiger said. "In hindsight I probably shouldn't have. (The ankle) just didn't hold up." The free agent-to-be, who hopes to re-sign with Washington, said he expects to be fully recovered in a month or so. "The best case scenario for me is I get a new deal here," said Lichtensteiger, who was the first player the Redskins signed after Mike Shanahan became their coach in Janaury 2010. "I don't want to leave this system, I don't want to leave these coaches, I don't want to leave my teammates."
12/31/12 - LG Kory Lichtensteiger departed in the third quarter against Dallas with a sprained left ankle. Josh LeRiebus replaced him. Coach Mike Shanahan hopes that Lichtensteiger will be ready for Sunday's playoff opener against Seattle.
12/19/12 - LG Kory Lichtensteiger, who has started every game this season after tearing his right ACL and MCL in Week 6 last year, was voted the Redskins' Ed Block Courage Award nominee by his teammates. Lichtensteiger had a followup scope during the first week of training camp this past summer. "Kory is a warrior," Shanahan said. "He's very competitive. He's played at a very high level. He does everything we ask him to do. He's a perfectionist."
