 Draft Scout Mike Reilly News
11/19/09 - QB Mike Reilly was signed to Green Bay's practice squad, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. The Packers had a hole to fill after Brian Brohm was signed to Buffalo's active roster.
10/27/09 - QBs Mike Reilly and Patrick Ramsey were among the six players Buffalo brought in for tryouts Tuesday.
08/23/09 - QB Mike Reilly saw his first game action and did better on the run (two carries, 25 yards) than passing (2 of 5, 17 yards).
04/27/09 - A couple Central Washington Wildcats go undrafted but are still headed to the NFL. Former Central and Kamiakin quarterback Mike Reilly was signed by the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers after the draft. Reilly says he he had interest from 4 teams but that Pittsburgh was by far the most interested. He hasn't agreed to terms with the Steelers but he will get a signing bonus even if he doesn't make the team. To make the team, he must beat out 1 of the 3 current Pittsburgh quarterbacks. Reilly's teammate tight end Jared Bronson was signed by the Miami Dolphins. - KNDO/KNDU TV
04/09/09 - It's a big step up from NCAA Division II football to the NFL. When Central Washington quarterback Mike Reilly has visited with NFL teams in this draft process, they want to know if he's ready for such a step. "Coming from Division II, when I step in the huddle, they ask me how I'd handle it if say Adrian Peterson was telling me to hurry up and call the play," Reilly said. "I tell them I've played with big-name guys. I'm the quarterback. I don't care if I'm in the huddle with the Dallas Cowboys or a sandlot team back home. It's my role to take charge." Reilly was a major-college prospect coming out of high school, accepting a scholarship to play at Washington State. He transferred to Central Washington after his redshirt season and wound up third in Division II history in career passing yardage (12,448). He threw for 3,706 yards last season to finish as the runnerup for the Harlon Hill Trophy, the Division II Heisman. Reilly then was invited to play in the East-West Shrine Game and also attend the NFL combine. - Rick Gosselin, The Dallas Morning News
