Draft Scout Ben Obomanu News
10/02/13 - WR Ben Obomanu was released by the Jets on Tuesday. Obomanu appeared to be in line for more playing time when Stephen Hill and Santonio Holmes got hurt in the 38-13 loss to the Titans on Sunday, but Obomanu committed three penalties (one of which the Jets declined) in the defeat. It is the second time this season Obomanu has been released by the Jets, who cut him at the end of training camp on Aug. 31.
09/30/13 - WR Ben Obomanu collected his first catch for the Jets, an eight-yard grab on the first play of the fourth quarter Sunday in the Jets' 38-13 loss. Obomanu was among the players released during final cuts and re-signed on Sept. 10, but with the uncertain availability of Stephen Hill (concussion) and Santonio Holmes (hamstring), the Jets may have no choice but to count heavily on Obomanu against the Falcons next week.
09/10/13 - WR Ben Obomanu signed with the Jets on Tuesday. The acquisition of Obomanu -- who ranked second on the Jets with 10 catches for 139 yards in the preseason but was among their final cuts on Aug. 31 -- is a clear indication the Jets don't expect Jeremy Kerley (concussion) to play against the Patriots on Thursday. Obomanu has spent his entire career with the Seahawks, for whom he had 87 catches for 1,209 yards and seven touchdowns between 2007 and 2012.
09/01/13 - WR Ben Obomanu had his contract terminated by the Jets Saturday.
05/31/13 - WR Ben Obomanu signed with the Jets. The long-time Seahawk finished last season on injured reserve with a wrist injury.
