Post-Draft Outlook:
A closer look at the Jaguars' picks: Round 5/144, Jarett Dillard, WR, 5-10, 187, Rice...Dillard was picked a round behind Mike Thomas, but he might have a stronger chance to make an impact with the Jaguars' receiving corps. He's more than two inches taller than Thomas and excels at weaving and darting through tight areas. He has exceptional leaping ability to get the ball at its high point. He led the nation with 20 touchdown catches as a senior, starting all 12 games. He's the only player in league history to produce three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Jarett Dillard News
11/15/09 - WR Jarrett Dillard suffered a broken leg against the Jets and will be out for the season.
09/23/09 - WR Jarrett Dillard, a native of San Antonio, will make his NFL debut Sunday at Houston along with fellow rookie WR and Texas native Mike Thomas.
09/21/09 - WR Jarett Dillard will likely make his debut against the Texans after being inactive the first two games.
08/02/09 - WR Jarett Dillard isn't fast enough to line up on a regular basis on the outside, so look for him to challenge as the second group of receivers in the slot position.
07/20/09 - WR Jarett Dillard has signed with the Jaguars, the team announced. Terms were not disclosed. Dillard knew he had made a positive impression on the Jaguars in the off-the-field meetings before the draft. His second act wasn't labeled a disappointment by coach Jack Del Rio, either. "They (Jaguars) said they were looking for that (character) in the draft and I thought I fit this team very nicely," Dillard said in May. Del Rio also liked what he saw from the 5-10, 187-pounder in the team's organized team activities. He caught passes in team drills, ran a few reverses and returned kicks and punts -- all without looking like a rookie. "He's got a real knack. I think the more you watch him, the more you like him," Del Rio said. "He's a sharp kid. He's got really good hands and he has a really good feel for coverage and where he belongs. He's not a burner. He never has been. He's not some things, but he is a football player. We think he'll be a good fit for us."
