05/01/08 - The Detroit Lions invited 2003 Bridgeport High School graduate David Perkins to try out during the NFL team's rookie minicamp this weekend. Perkins, a 6-foot-2, 308-pound guard, was a four-year starting offensive lineman at the University of Toledo. The tryout could lead to a free agent contract with the team. He also is slated to graduate Saturday with a bachelor's degree in journalism. - The Saginaw News
09/16/07 - Senior offensive lineman David Perkins started at center in place of sophomore Buster Garrett. Perkins owns 34 career starts at three different positions. Freshman offensive lineman Kevin Kowalski received his first career start at right guard.
