Draft Scout Lance Briggs News
08/18/14 - LB Lance Briggs missed practice time early in the week due to a knee bruise suffered Thursday in the second preseason game against Jacksonville. It left Jonathan Bostic playing the weak side in the base defense and put Shea McClellin on the field in the nickel alongside Bostic at times.
12/23/13 - LB Lance Briggs made his return after missing seven games with a shoulder fracture. Game day stats had Briggs at only one assisted tackle on the game.
"He came out a couple times and got some wind, went back out," coach Marc Trestman said. "I thought he played hard."
12/18/13 - LB Lance Brigg's status (shoulder) is still expected to be solidified on Friday after his limited participation in Wednesday's practice.
12/16/13 - LB Lance Briggs will practice this week and his status for Sunday's game will be announced by Trestman at that point. Chances appear favorable for his return from the shoulder fracture that has kept him out since Oct. 20.
"It's going to be day to day," coach Marc Trestman said. "I'm reasonable optimistic, but it's going to be through the three days of practice before a decision's made."
12/13/13 - LB Lance Briggs returned to practice Thursday for the first time since suffering a fractured shoulder Oct. 20. He practiced only on a limited basis, however, and was declared out against the Browns after limited practice again Friday.
With Briggs, it's a simple issue.
"It's just the healing of the bone and where that is right now," Trestman said.
