Draft Scout News
03/14/15 - S Jimmy Wilson left the Dolphins for the Chargers Friday (March 13), agreeing to terms on a two-year contract.
Wilson, a San Diego native, spent the past four seasons with the Dolphins, where he started 21 of 60 games and accumulated 153 tackles, four interceptions and two sacks.
After Wilson was drafted in the seventh round by the Dolphins in 2011, he has played mostly safety and nickel back. Last season, he started 13 games and had a career-best 58 tackles and one interception.
03/04/15 - S Jimmy Wilson was a key member of the team in many ways -- as a starting slot defensive back in the nickel package, special teams player, playing key downs at safety, and, late in the season, starting at cornerback. There's a good chance Wilson will test the free-agent market and depart. The Dolphins most likely will push to keep him, but Wilson is versatile and athletic, and he has been relatively healthy. He'll be tough to keep.
12/16/14 - S Jimmy Wilson, starting in place of Louis Delmas (knee/IR) was so-so against New England. He allowed a TD reception by TE Rob Gronkowski and was mediocre overall in pass coverage but fairly strong against the run.
11/11/14 - S Jimmy Wilson (hamstring) has been practicing and seems he'll be able to handle his nickel defense role as the slot DB. That's a big key for the Dolphins.
10/29/14 - S Jimmy Wilson (hamstring), who missed the Jacksonville game, was limited in Wednesday's practice. But Wilson, Miami's best option in the nickel defense, seems as though he'll play. S Michael Thomas would likely get the nickel job if Wilson is again sidelined.
