Draft Scout Robert Herron News
05/12/14 - A closer look at the Buccaneers' picks: Round 6/185 -- Robert Herron, WR, 5-9, 195, Wyoming...The speedy Herron figures to play the slot receiver spot. Herron played for Bucs quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo, who was the Cowboys' offensive coordinator. - The Sports Xchange
02/20/14 - 2014 NFL Combine: From 40 times to Fritos, 10 Bold Predictions: 8. Sleepers at Receiver. Extending the limb a bit, write down the names of these five wide receivers: Fresno State's Davante Adams, Wyoming's Robert Herron, New Mexico State's Austin Franklin, Saginaw Valley State's Jeff Janis and Colorado's Paul Richardson. Each may post all-around workouts that rival or perhaps even beat the efforts this week from Clemson's Sammy Watkins or Southern Cal's Marqise Lee, the two best receivers in the 2014 draft. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
01/22/14 - 2014 Senior Bowl Wednesday...Frankly, while Huff made some splashy plays, more consistency was shown from Herron and even Northwestern's Kain Colter, who is making the transition to receiver after starring as an option quarterback with the Wildcats. While perhaps best known for his straight-line speed, Herron has impressed scouts with his stout frame, competitiveness and willingness to extend for the contested grab. He made the catch of the day early in practice, soaring high to snatch a high, hard pass from Boyd along the left sideline. While clearly a work in progress as a route-runner, Colter (5-foot-11, 199 pounds) has the agility and balance to generate separation and caught the ball cleanly. - Rob Rang & Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
01/21/14 - 2014 Senior Bowl: 10 observations from Monday's North practice...3. Speaking of the wide receivers, I really like the group on the North team. The South squad might have the only senior wideout who ends up being drafted in the top-50 picks (Jordan Matthews), but the mid-round talent at receiver on the North is above average. Wisconsin WR Jared Abbrederis, Wyoming WR Robert Herron and Oregon WR Josh Huff all looked good on Monday before, after and during the catch. All three have a legitimate chance to be drafted in the top-100 and Monday reminded everyone why. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
12/19/13 - 2013 ALL-MOUNTAIN WEST HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES/MEDIA): Robert Herron, Sr., WR,...Herron earned Honorable Mention All-Mountain West honors for the second straight season.
