 Draft Scout Jason Hatcher News
03/08/16 - DE Jason Hatcher had his contract terminated by the Redskins Monday (March 7). Hatcher announced the move via Twitter and the Redskins later confirmed the transaction. "I want to take this time to thank (owner) Dan Snyder and the entire Redskins organization for letting me stop by to serve the purpose God has on my life for these two years," Hatcher wrote. "I am proud of the way this football team has grown and will continue to grow and I'm proud to have been a part of it. To the fans yall are the best and it was a pleasure to make it a winning season for you guys. Whelp I can't stay on here all day I got to get my (butt) to work and find another damn job ..." Hatcher signed with the Redskins in 2014 as an unrestricted free agent after a breakout season with the Dallas Cowboys. His four-year, $27.5 million contract had two years remaining and releasing Hatcher saves the Redskins $6 million against the 2016 salary cap.
01/11/16 - DE Jason Hatcher said after Sunday's game that he will consider retiring even though he has two years remaining on his contract and that general manager Scot McCloughan told him the team wants him to return.
12/18/15 - DE Jason Hatcher is questionable for Sunday's game against Buffalo due to knee and neck injuries.
12/14/15 - DE Jason Hatcher (stinger) has a reputation for playing through pain. He always seems to be fighting a knee injury of some sort. But during the week it appeared it would take "a miracle," according to Hatcher, for him to play against Chicago. He got one. Hatcher didn't play much, but with his team already down one defensive lineman (Stephen Paea), he gutted his way through 12 snaps despite a sore ankle and a pinched nerve in his neck. Only late in the week did Hatcher start to think he could at least contribute some.
12/09/15 - DE Jason Hatcher (stinger) needs an MRI to examine a shoulder injury. Hatcher also sustained an ankle injury in Monday's loss to Dallas.
