Draft Scout *Brandon Lloyd News
10/14/14 - WR Brandon Lloyd caught an 80-yard touchdown pass in Monday's win over the St. Louis Rams. Surprisingly, it was not his longest TD catch as a 49er. He hauled in an 89-yarder from Tim Rattay in his first go-round with the 49ers, on Sept. 25, 2005.
10/05/14 - WR Brandon Lloyd caught a season-high three passes for 76 yards Sunday in a 22-17 victory against Kansas City, including an acrobatic, 29-yard grab during a crucial fourth-quarter drive. QB Colin Kaepernick threw a jump-ball pass along the left sideline on third-and-10 from the 49ers' 32, and the 6-foot Lloyd out-jumped 6-3 CB Sean Smith to make the catch. The 49ers continued driving for the go-ahead field goal. Earlier in the game, Lloyd caught a 38-yard pass. After being out of football last season, Lloyd is getting back on track, giving Kaepernick another dangerous weapon.
09/15/14 - WR Brandon Lloyd was inactive for Sunday's game as 49ers coach went with fourth (return man Bruce Ellington) and fifth (special teams ace Kasim Osgood) wideouts who serve other purposes. Lloyd had been active for the season opener at Dallas, but caught no passes.
09/11/14 - WR Brandon Lloyd did not catch a pass in the opener, but he was the focus of a game clip the 49ers sent to the NFL office nonetheless. Lloyd was called for offensive pass interference that negated a 32-yard pass to TE Vernon Davis in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win. The 49ers await a response from the league on what Lloyd did wrong.
09/01/14 - WR Brandon Lloyd made the 49ers' 53-man roster despite nursing a bad leg most of the preseason. 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh expects the veteran to be healthy enough to play Sunday in the opener against Dallas and perhaps share time at the third-receiver spot with WR Stevie Johnson.
