He established himself as the top cornerback in the Big East Conference and also served a dual-role on special teams, which could keep him in the mix when final cuts are made in July. Butler finished with the 10th most return yards in school history and also displayed a nose for the end zone, becoming the first player in conference history to record a touchdown on a kick return, an interception return, a reception and a rushing play. 01/14/14 - CB Darius Butler (leg contusion) was injured against New England. He returned once and then and was sidelined for the remainder of the game. Butler is not expected to have to undergo surgery but a final decision has not been made.
01/02/14 - CB Darius Butler (quad) went through a full workout on Wednesday. He did not practice Tuesday. Butler is expected to be available for the Kansas City game on Saturday.

12/17/13 - CB Darius Butler had a pair of interceptions and came close to getting a third against the Texans. Butler now leads the Colts in interceptions with four. He also had four interceptions a year ago, which was a single-season career best. Butler had previously recorded three interceptions as a rookie for New England in 2009.
"D-Buts is a playmaker, as we know. D-Buts getting two interceptions (in the Houston game) was huge," coach Chuck Pagano said.
OLB Josh McNary was credited with only one tackle against the Texans but played most of the game on defense. McNary, who was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent last spring after his Army service commitment was over, added two quarterback hurries in the Houston game. He had been elevated to the active roster from the practice squad prior to the Tennessee game three weeks ago.
