 Draft Scout Chris Clemons News
08/11/10 - S Chris Clemons is standing out in Dolphins training camp. Coach Tony Sparano said of Clemons "it's amazing; he's a pretty smart guy." Sparano said Clemons would likely be the starter at free safety if he plays well in the preseason. "So the playbook has been thrown at them and Chris is in charge of getting us lined up and he still has one mental error and he's over 400 snaps," Sparano said. "I've been impressed with that. The game happens faster than practice so before I completely take my hat off, I want to see it happen in a game, just see what he does out there in the game and let him get us lined up and let him communicate, but every indication I have, because we do try to make this, for them as hard as we possibly can out here, every indication I have is that he's going to be fine when he gets into the game that way."
01/14/10 - SS/FS Chris Clemons' playing time increased as Gibril Wilson became less effective, and he displayed better pass coverage, but his tackling was fair at best.
01/03/10 - S Chris Clemons played more than half the game in place of veteran Gibril Wilson but finished with no tackles. Still, Sparano said he didn't notice any major gaffes from Clemons, a rookie who could get a chance for a larger role in 2010.
12/27/09 - FS Chris Clemons got on the field for several series Sunday in place of the struggling veteran Gibril Wilson, who dropped an easy deflection that would have been his first interception as a Dolphin. Clemons, a fifth-rounder out of Clemson, had two tackles (matching Wilson's total for the day) and added two more tackles on special teams.
11/01/09 - FS Chris Clemons was active for the second straight game, and this time the fifth-rounder out of Clemson made his first career start. Clemons was in on three tackles on defense plus another two on special teams as he shared time with struggling veteran Gibril Wilson.
