 Draft Scout Anthony Parker News
03/24/09 - Tennessee Pro day: Players worked out indoors on FieldTurf and all 32 teams had representatives present. OL Anthony Parker (6-1 3/4, 290 pounds) ran a 5.08 and 5.10 in the 40, had a 26-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot, 3-inch broad jump, a 4.80 short shuttle and a 7.90 three-cone drill. – Gil Brandt, NFL.com
03/12/09 - Parker's NFL future could require a change of position. At close to 6-foot-2, he projects better as a center, where he played some in 2005 before moving to right guard in 2006. Since then, he started all but the 2007 Outback Bowl at guard, a total of 39 games. Since leaving campus, he's trimmed down to 297 pounds. Although he was listed at 300 pounds last season, he played at a heavier weight. He also participated in every drill except the bench press Wednesday, where he stood on the 24 repetitions of 225 pounds he posted at the NFL combine. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.08 seconds, nearly two-tenths of a second faster than the target time for most centers and guards. - Drew Edwards, Go Vols Xtra
02/07/09 - PRO POTENTIAL: OL Anthony Parker -- While Parker is best as a guard, he has the versatility and intelligence to play at tackle. Parker wasn't as good as a senior as he was in his junior year, but has an NFL-type body and the aggression. He might be a good second-day pick.
12/10/08 - 2008 ALL-SEC SECOND TEAM (Coaches): OL Anthony Parker Tennessee (G) 6-3 300 Sr. Jonesboro, Ga., has been selected All-Southeastern Conference football Second Team for the 2008 college football season as voted on by the league head coaches. Parker started 12 games in 2008 and 39 of 44 in his career. He played both guard positions this season, starting six games on each side of the offensive line. The Jonesboro, Ga., native was also named second-team All-SEC by the Associated Press. - Tennessee football
12/08/08 - 2008 ALL-SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (Media): PL Anthony Parker Tennessee 6-3 300 Sr., has been selected All-SEC football Second Team for the 2008 college football season as voted on by the Associated Press. Parker started all 12 games on the offensive line, six at each of the guard positions. - Tennessee football
