 Draft Scout Danny Amendola News
09/20/15 - WR Danny Amendola caught just one pass, falling well short of fellow WRs Julian Edelman (11 receptions, 97 yards) and Aaron Dobson (seven receptions, 87 yards), but Amendola's lone reception was a beauty. Covered closely by CB Nickell Robey, Amendola hauled in a 29-yard pass to set up the Patriots' final field goal.
11/23/14 - WR/KR Danny Amendola set up New England's second touchdown with a dazzling 81-yard kickoff return in the second quarter. His career-long kick return is 84 yards, for the Rams in 2010.
10/17/14 - WR Danny Amendola had easily his best game of the season in helping the Patriots hang on to beat the Jets on Thursday night. Amendola caught the game-winning 19-yard touchdown pass on third-and-goal midway through the fourth quarter, his only catch of the day. The receiver also recovered the Jets' onside kick attempt later in the quarter as well as contributing on special teams with his first four kickoff returns of the season for a 26.3-yard average. While there has been a bit of criticism thrown the receiver's way early this season given his mere five catches in seven games a year removed from joining New England on a $31 million contract, Amendola downplayed his personal satisfaction in his own contributions. "We came out on top and that's what I'm most excited about," Amendola said. "I've caught a lot of balls in a game and lost. I've caught a lot of balls in a game and won. I've caught zero balls in a game and won and zero balls in a game and lost. No matter what, to come out on top is most important. That's when everybody is happiest and that's when we grow as a team. We're all excited. Good win for us."
10/16/14 - WR Danny Amendola emerged from oblivion Thursday night, helping the Patriots survive a scare from the New York Jets. He made his Patriots debut as a kick returner, something he used to do with the Rams early in his career, and he ran back four kicks for 105 yards. He also made a circus catch for what turned out to be the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, his first reception since making three grabs in the opening game at Miami. "He made a phenomenal catch," QB Tom Brady said. Added coach Bill Belichick: "Nobody works harder than Danny." Amendola also drew an important pass-interference penalty near the New York goal line and had a catch called back because of a penalty. "We came out on top, and that's what I'm excited about," Amendola said. "We're all excited. Good win for us."
10/06/14 - WR Danny Amendola left the first quarter of the win over the Bengals with a head injury but returned to finish the game.
