 Draft Scout Jay Ratliff News
10/20/14 - DT Jeremiah Ratliff made his second start after a concussion had sidelined him two games, and produced a career-high 3.5 sacks against Miami. Ratliff was less concerned with the sacks than he was a couple big read-option runs the Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill made, including one in the fourth quarter for 30 yards on third-and-1 with the game still in question. "I don't feel they should be running the ball," he said. "I mean, yeah, I got a little frustrated just trying to rally the guys, but we just need to go back and work and get this thing fixed."
10/02/14 - DT Jeremiah Ratliff had been fairly positive about a return from a concussion this week on Wednesday when he practiced with the team, but Thursday he was out of practice and head coach Marc Trestman said he still has not cleared all the NFL protocol for returning from the injury. So Ratliff's status remains uncertain for Sunday. The Bears used rookies Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton to replace Ratliff against Green Bay and the New York Jets.
09/29/14 - DT Jeremiah Ratliff has yet to meet the NFL concussion recovery protocol and remains day to day. Sunday's missed game was his second straight.
09/24/14 - DT Jeremiah Ratliff continues to miss practices following a concussion suffered in the Week 2 win over San Francisco. Rookies Will Sutton and Ego Ferguson continue to get more reps with the first team as a result.
09/19/14 - Jeremiah Ratliff remains sidelined with a concussion and hasn't practiced this week or undergone all the league protocol for returning through Friday. Without him, Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton would get more playing time, with Sutton likely to start at three technique. Ratliff was key to holding the 49ers running attack in check Sunday.
