08/24/15 - WR Miles Austin sat out Saturday's preseason game against Baltimore. It's not clear why. Coach Chip Kelly said he was healthy.
03/08/15 - WR Miles Austin, unrestricted FA update, had trouble staying healthy in 2011 and 2013 with the Dallas Cowboys. He missed the last four games of 2014 with the Browns because of a lacerated kidney. He seems to like Cleveland. When he went on injured reserve in December he helped the receivers in practice. Despite missing four games he still finished second on the team with 47 catches. Wide receiver is the Browns' weakest position. It will be even weaker if they do not re-sign Austin.
12/03/14 - WR Miles Austin is second among Browns receivers with 47 catches, but he suffered a kidney injury in the 26-10 loss to Buffalo and had to be hospitalized. He was put on injured reserve Wednesday.
Austin caught 13 passes over the last two games. He has benefited most from the return of Josh Gordon. Gordon was suspended the first 10 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
12/03/14 - WR Miles Austin (kidney) was placed on reserve/injured by the Browns Wednesday (Dec. 3). Said Browns head coach Mike Pettine, "Miles sustained a kidney injury in Buffalo and remains in the hospital. Our thoughts are with him and we wish him a speedy recovery. Miles is a guy who embodies what ‘Play like a Brown' means and instills that in our receiving corps." Austin, who signed with the Browns this offseason, appeared in 12 games with 11 starts. He is second on the team in receptions (47) and receiving yards (568), while adding two touchdowns. He has appeared in 118 career games and has totaled 348 receptions for 5,049 yards and 36 touchdowns.
