Draft Scout Leodis McKelvin News
03/08/16 - CB Leodis McKelvin signed a two-year deal with the Eagles to reunite with former defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
McKelvin, 30, was released last week by the Buffalo Bills. The former first-round pick spent eight seasons in Buffalo. Schwartz was defensive coordinator of the Bills in 2014 and enters his first season in that role with the Eagles in 2016.
McKelvin was the 11th overall pick in 2008 and served as a kick returner with the Bills because of his speed.
03/05/16 - CB Leodis McKelvin had his contract terminated by the Bills Friday (March 4). McKelvin, 30, was limited last season to five starts after returning from a broken ankle in Nov. 2014.
The 11th overall pick in the 2008 draft, McKelvin started 60 games and played in 98, also contributing as a kickoff returner with four return touchdowns in his career.
Releasing McKelvin saves the Bills $3.9 million against their 2016 cap.
12/14/15 - CB Leodis McKelvin had an interception, but he also had a critical missed tackle that led to the Eagles winning field goal.
11/24/15 - CB Leodis McKelvin really didn't feel much like talking about his fumbled punt that turned out to be key in the loss. "You saw it," he said. "He (Brandon King) came up from behind and pushed it out. It is the easiest way you are going to get a fumble, when somebody comes up from behind you and you don't see them. He just punched it out."
11/09/15 - CB Leodis McKelvin made his season debut and though he was beat deep on one play, he was in on six tackles, one for a loss of yardage, and he broke up a pass.
