12/03/08 - 2008 ALL-MAC SECOND TEAM: Inside Linebacker - Daniel Holtzclaw, Eastern Michigan, has been selected All-MAC Second Team for the 2008 college football season as voted by the MAC News Media Association. The 6-foot-1, 246-pound Holtzclaw has been a fixture at middle linebacker since his first day on campus as a freshman. He started all 47 games the past four seasons and finished his career as the second-leading tackler in EMU history with 437 stops. Holtzclaw once again led the Eagles in tackles with 107 stops in 2008, good for a tie for 34th nationally and an eighth-place MAC ranking. - Eastern Michigan football

11/30/08 - Eastern Michigan University Linebacker Daniel Holtzclaw along with the Eagle's football team turned on the heat Friday, Nov. 28, to record a thrilling 56-52 record-breaking effort in a Mid-American Conference best Division victory over a visiting Central Michigan University team Friday, Nov. 28, afternoon on Senior Day in Rynearson Stadium. The team finished the season 3-9 but garnered the Michigan MAC Trophy for winning a tie breaker between the interstate rivalry of Eastern, Western and Central Michigan Universities. Holtzclaw who recorded 12 tackles to include one for a 3 yard loss, finished up the season with 107 total tackles which places him 34th in the Nation among Division I teams. Holtzclaw's stellar college career has include starting and playing through all of the 47 games he was eligible for without a major injury. He garner 20 games in which he had double digit tackles and the most tackles in one game which was 18. He holds the number #2 position for most career tackles in the Eastern Michigan School history with 437 total tackles. That career amount of 437 tackles placed him number #1 among all active players for total tackles averaging 9.3 tackles per game for his career. During the last 4 years Holtzclaw received national attention as being named to the Freshman All-American Teams, Conference Teams and has made the watch lists to the Vince Lombardi, Bronko Nagurski, and Dick Butkus, defensive player awards in the last 3 seasons. Holtzclaw hopes to have the opportunity to play in one of the upcoming Senior Bowl games and a possible invite to the NFL Combine in February 09. - EMU Football
11/23/08 - Eastern Michigan linebacker Daniel Holtzclaw garnered another school record moving to 2nd place in the Eastern Michigan Eagle's record book for most tackles with 425 in his 4 year career. Reese McCaskill holds the top record with 450 back in 1996. Holtzclaw led the defense with 9 tackles in a close high scoring game loss against Temple University 55-52 on Saturday. Holtzclaw who will finish his College career at Eastern Michigan next week against Central Michigan on Senior Day, 11/28/08.
