Post-Draft Outlook: A closer look at the Jets' picks: Round 3/65 -- Shonn Greene, RB, 5-11, 227, Iowa...Just as they did with Sanchez, the Jets traded (three picks this time) so they could move up and grab the bulky tailback with excellent vision and the ability to run hard between the tackles. Greene rushed for 1,850 yards as a junior in 2008, with 20 rushing touchdowns and 6.0 yards per carry and won the Doak Walker Award as the top running back in the nation. He missed the 2007 season because he was academically ineligible, so has had only season as a starter. He can make yardage after contact and can find holes, but his speed has been questioned, as he runs only a 4.62 in the 40. He needs to improve in the passing game, both as a receiver and in picking up blitzes. - by The Sports Xchange

Draft Scout *Shonn Greene News
06/16/15 - RB Shonn Greene had his contract terminated by the Titans Tuesday (June 16). Green was released after he reported to minicamp, took a physical and passed.
Greene chose to stay away from the Titans' OTAs and missed the entire offseason until reporting for mandatory work.
Greene's release ends a disappointing signing for the Titans, as he received a three-year, $10 million contract in 2013, but gained fewer than 700 yards in two seasons combined. By releasing Greene, the Titans save $3.25 million in base salary against the cap for this season.
12/28/14 - RB Shonn Greene nearly became the first Tennessee running back this season to rush for 100 yards, but fell short with 94 on just 11 carries. Greene missed time in the second half after appearing to injure his shoulder at the end of a highlight-film 52-yard run in the third quarter that saw him dump-truck S Mike Adams. Greene also ripped off a 17-yard run in the second quarter to set up the team's only TD.
10/29/14 - RB Shonn Greene was arrested last Friday night over an alleged incident with a handicapped parking space. He had just one carry in Sunday's game.
10/27/14 - RB Shonn Greene, who was arrested on Friday night on charges stemming from his illegally parking in a handicapped spot, had just one carry and played only sparingly on Sunday.
10/26/14 - RB Shonn Greene started despite his arrest Friday in suburban Nashville on multiple charges, including parking in a handicapped spot. Greene carried once for one yard, but didn't get another carry for the game's remainder. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said after the game that Greene's status will be determined after the Franklin Police Department takes action.
