 Draft Scout Albert McClellan News
12/17/12 - OLB Albert McClelland dealt with a left hamstring injury that's not regarded as major.
10/16/12 - LB Albert McClellan has been starting at outside linebacker, but he may cross-train at inside linebacker with the season-ending injury to Ray Lewis.
09/17/12 - LB Albert McClellan made some improvements from the first game of the season. McClellan had a career-high six tackles, two for losses with one pass deflection and a fumble recovery. McClellan had issues setting the edge against the Cincinnati Bengals, but was more of a factor in this game. McClellan thought he would grade out highly for his overall game, including pass coverage. The Ravens need improvement from their outside linebackers and McClellan is displaying signs that he's beginning to click in defensive coordinator Dean Pees' 3-4 scheme.
09/10/12 - LB Albert McClellan entered the season as a defensive starter to launch the regular season for the first time since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent three years ago. McClellan beat out rookie outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw, the Ravens' second-round draft pick, to become the starter at rush linebacker, injured NFL Defensive Player of the Year Terrell Suggs' vacated spot. McClellan started one game last season against the San Francisco 49ers and recorded a career-high four tackles. He also led the Ravens with a dozen special-teams tackles. The 6-2-245-pounder finished the preseason with nine tackles and a sack, ranking fifth on the team in tackles. Although his primary responsibilities are stopping the run and chasing the quarterback, McClellan has been honing his pass coverage skills as well. He'll line up at strong-side outside linebacker as well as rush linebacker. McClellan was an All-Conference USA selection at Marshall and was named a defensive Most Valuable Player. McClellan wasn't expected to win the job heading into training camp, but beat the odds to emerge as the starter.
01/11/12 - LB Albert McClellan could see more action against Houston as LB Brendon Ayanbadejo (sprained right quadriceps) was limited in Wednesday's practice. McClain wasn't listed on the team's injury report, while Ayanbadejo was limited.
