05/23/16 - WR Brian Hartline was released on Monday.
Hartline, a native of Ohio and former Ohio State standout, signed with the Browns in 2015 after six seasons with the Dolphins. Last year, he appeared in 12 games with four starts and totaled 46 receptions for 523 yards and two touchdowns.
The 30-year-old became expendable after the Browns selected four receivers, including No. 15 overall pick Corey Coleman in the draft last month.
05/18/16 - WR Brian Hartline might be fighting for his roster spot with four rookies on the roster, but he made the play of the day Wednesday when he made a diving catch of a pass thrown by Josh McCown.
"Hartline is a pro," coach Hue Jackson said. "He's been through it. He's had success. He knows how to play, and there's something to that. At the same time, he knows each and every day he's got to go out and compete because everybody's trying to win a spot."

12/14/15 - WR Brian Hartline (collarbone) was injured late in the third quarter of the 24-10 victory over the 49ers on Sunday. Head coach Mike Pettine said Hartline's collarbone is broken and will have to be repaired surgically. He will spend the rest of the season on injured reserve. He caught a total of 15 passes from quarterback Johnny Manziel in the last two games.
