Post-Draft Outlook:
A closer look at the Chiefs' picks: Round 4/102 -- Donald Washington, CB, 6-0, 197, Ohio State...Underachieving defensive back who has tremendous athletic ability (45-inch vertical leap), but has not transferred those skills to the football field. Kansas City liked his experience covering slot receivers. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout *Donald Washington News
05/27/10 - DB Donald Washington made little in the way of a contribution last year as a rookie cornerback. As he enters his second season, Washington is getting more practice time at safety than he is on the corner. "I think it's a good move," said Washington. "I think it really fits my skills. I think it fits my range, my speed and my size. I'm looking for an opportunity to play and I hope there's a chance at safety."
03/04/10 - CB Donald Washington played in eight games and saw only a handful of snaps on defense. He had three tackles on defense and only two on special teams.
10/19/09 - CB Donald Washington was a game-day inactive for the game against the Redskins. The previous game against Dallas, Washington started the afternoon as the Chiefs' nickel cornerback. But when he was badly beaten on man-to-man coverage for what should have been a touchdown, Washington was yanked and did not return.
09/29/09 - CB Donald Washington struggled at times with his first extended playing time in the Chiefs' nickel defense, but he's likely to continue to get chances to play in the extra DB role. The rookie showed his athleticism against the Eagles after he replaced Maurice Leggett in the nickel, but he also had a mental mistake and picked up a 15-yard personal foul penalty for grabbing a facemask.
08/23/09 - CB Donald Washington is starting to move up the depth chart on special teams and is now on the No. 1 kickoff squad.
