Draft Scout A.Q. Shipley News
06/06/17 - C A.Q. Shipley, expected to be the starter again this season, hasn't been able to participate in any of the team's offseason workouts after undergoing surgery to repair a core-muscle issue. He is expected to be ready by the start of training camp. "Into the offseason, I was feeling it every day," Shipley said. "I was going to push through it and deal with it, but we talked about it and everybody decided we didn't want it to linger into the season."
08/10/15 - C A.Q. Shipley apparently has not impressed coaches, evidenced by the team re-signing Lyle Sendlein, who will open as the backup center but Shipley should be nervous.
03/12/15 - C/G A.Q. Shipley left the Colts for the Cardinals Wednesday (March 11), agreeing to terms on a two-year contract.
Shipley, 28, played in 15 games with five starts for the Colts last season. A veteran who has played guard and center, Shipley has played in 45 career NFL games.
03/08/15 - C/G A.Q. Shipley, unrestricted FA update, would rather play guard, but he's done a nice job filling in at center whenever called upon. A fan favorite, he's a blue-collar guy who fits in wherever Colts coaches put him. The knock on Shipley is his size and his short arms. But he plays hard and usually gets the job done.
01/08/15 - C/G A.Q. Shipley (ankle) practiced Wednesday and is expected to be available to face Denver on Sunday. Shipley sat out the Cincinnati game last week after he was hurt at Tennessee in the regular-season finale.
