 Draft Scout Fili Moala News
09/01/10 - DT Fili Moala struggled as a rookie last season. He had a tough time adapting to the Colts' defensive scheme and often looked lost when he was on the field. But he looks like a different player after a good offseason of working with defensive line coach John Teerlinck.
07/22/10 - DT Fili Moala struggled to learn the defense as a rookie last year but is being counted on to be a force this season.
06/03/10 - DT Fili Moala is approaching what could prove to be an important season. A second-round pick in 2009, Moala didn't see much playing time as a rookie. He was inactive during the Colts' playoff run to the Super Bowl."(We" really anticipate that he is going to be one of those guys that comes forward and is really able to give us some help," said head coach Jim Caldwell. "The big thing is learning how we do things from a technical standpoint, just in terms of fundamentals and techniques, playing with leverage. He is a tall guy, inherently. We just have to get him down, bend his knees a little bit more and use what God has given him, in terms of his ability. He has strength and explosion. We have to bring those things out, so we can see those snap after snap. Oftentimes, if a guy is thinking about his assignments, focusing in on those things, he gets a little tunnel vision, and more often than not you don't get an opportunity to see his natural ability, and that's where he was last year. He was learning so much that we didn't get an opportunity to see him at his best."
03/04/10 - DT Fili Moala was inactive for six games early in the season but started to get more work over the final 10 weeks of the year.
02/07/10 - DT Fili Moala is inactive for Super Bowl XLIV.
