 Draft Scout Jamaal Charles News
09/15/14 - RB Jamaal Charles suffered a high sprain in his left ankle during the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Broncos in Denver. Early evaluations indicate the All-Pro running back will miss at the minimum several weeks of play, although every sprained ankle is different. Charles finished the game with just three touches for 12 yards and in two weeks he had 12 touches for 46 yards.
09/11/14 - RB Jamaal Charles enjoyed the most productive game of his NFL career four years ago in Denver when he ran for 259 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns. It was the final game of the 2009 season and capped the first 1,000-yard season of his career. Charles has followed that up with three more seasons of 1,000 yards.
09/03/14 - RB Jamaal Charles said Wednesday that he feels "great" and as good as he will probably feel for the remainder of the 2014 season. Charles played in the Chiefs first preseason game, and then did not get back on the field, because of injury and the coaching decision to save his body.
08/26/14 - RB Jamaal Charles will not play on Thursday night against Green Bay, but said he'll be ready for the regular-season opener against Tennessee on Sept. 7. Charles is coming off a bruised foot that he suffered while moving his belongings out of the players' dorm at the conclusion of training camp. "I feel really good and I'm just trying to focus on week No. 1," Charles said. He had just five touches in the preseason.
08/25/14 - RB Jamaal Charles is not likely to play in the Chiefs' final preseason game on Thursday against Green Bay, but he appears ready to go for the regular-season opener against Tennessee. Charles dressed but did not play against Minnesota. He's dealing with a bruised foot that he suffered moving out of the team's training camp dormitory. His preseason has been three carries for 12 yards and two catches for nine yards.
