Draft Scout Jamaal Charles News
10/21/16 - RB Jamaal Charles has swelling in his surgically repaired right knee, putting his availability in question for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. Charles was limited in Friday's practice,
10/17/16 - RB Jamaal Charles played his second game in a row since returning from a torn right ACL he sustained on Oct. 11, 2015, against Pittsburgh. He carried nine times for 33 yards and a touchdown, and the Chiefs rushed for 183 yards and three scores as a team.
"When you're talking about Jamaal, you're talking about a future Hall of Fame player," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. "You're not going to replace Jamaal Charles. ... It was great to have him back. I don't want to take anything away from Ware and the way he plays. He just is so tough. Having them both out there, that's a win-win."
10/12/16 - RB Jamaal Charles should become a big part of the Chiefs offense on Sunday. It will be one-year and five days after Charles blew out the ACL in his right knee and missed the Chiefs final 13 games of the season. He returned in the Pittsburgh game, but was on the field for only 10 plays and touched the ball twice, gaining seven yards.
10/10/16 - RB Jamaal Charles may have touched the ball just twice in his return to action last week against Pittsburgh, but those carries moved him into second place on the Chiefs career rushing-attempts list. Charles has 1,322 carries, passing Priest Holmes (1,321). He now trails only Larry Johnson, who holds the team record with 1,375 rushes.
10/05/16 - RB Jamaal Charles received his first playing time against Pittsburgh on Sunday night since suffering a torn ACL in his right knee nearly one year ago in a game against Chicago. Charles was on the field for 10 snaps and had two rushing attempts for seven yards. Will he return as Kansas City's feature back when the team comes off the bye week and faces Oakland and is he capable of the form he displayed from 2012-14, when he produced 5,049 offensive yards on 845 touches with 39 touchdowns? "We'll see," coach Andy Reid said. "We'll play it by ear, see how it rolls as we go and see how he feels. ... We've got 12 games to figure that out."
