Draft Scout Jamaal Charles News
09/30/14 - RB Jamaal Charles came out of the Monday night game with a sore ankle, but Chiefs head coach Andy Reid did not expect that to keep him off the practice field when the Chiefs return to work on Wednesday
09/29/14 - RB Jamaal Charles returned to the Chiefs' lineup Monday night after missing the previous game against Miami because of an ankle injury. Charles found the end zone three times and put up 108 offensive yards on 21 touches. Two of his scores came as a receiver.
09/22/14 - RB Jamaal Charles should be back to full work in practice on Thursday when the Chiefs return to the field to get ready for New England in next week's Monday night game. Charles did not play Sunday against the Dolphins because of a sprained ankle, although he went through a strong workout before the game. He was a late scratch.
09/19/14 - RB Jamaal Charles returned to limited practice Friday, just five days after suffering a high ankle sprain against the Denver Broncos.
The Chiefs are waiting to see how his ankle responds to the work before determining his status for Sunday's game at the Miami Dolphins.
"He did practice and he moved around and did a decent job," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. "So, we'll see how it all works out.
"I'm just going to evaluate, just see how he feels and let the docs make a decision and let the trainers make a decision from there. We appreciate his effort he came in and he's pushed through this thing. We'll make the decision after that."
Depending on Charles' status Sunday, Knile Davis will either start in his place or is expected to at least share the backfield reps.
09/18/14 - RB Jamaal Charles was on the practice field with the Chiefs on Thursday, although he was a limited participant on a left high ankle sprain. During the portion of practice available for media viewing, Charles ran through position drills with head trainer Rick Burkholder watching every step. He remains very questionable for Sunday's game against Miami.
