Post-Draft Outlook:
A closer look at the Bears' picks: Round 4/105 -- Henry Melton, DE, 6-3, 280, Texas...A project who could take some time to develop because of his limited experience at end. Backup running back in his first two seasons. Carried 132 times for 625 yards (4.7-yard average) and 16 touchdowns. Didn't become a starter until senior season and even then didn't post great numbers (29 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 4 sacks) but showed fine athleticism for the position. Has great physical tools, runs well and has excellent agility. Arrested for DUI in 2007 and served a three-game suspension. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Henry Melton News
03/12/15 - DT Henry Melton left the Cowboys for the Buccaneers Thursday (March 12), agreeing to terms on a one-year contract. Melton originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick (105th overall) of Chicago in the 2009 NFL Draft and spent the first four years of his career with the Bears (2010-13). A former standout at the University of Texas, Melton has played in 64 career games, with 35 starts, totaling 101 tackles, 20.5 sacks, five passes defensed, four fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles. The Desoto, Texas, native earned a Pro Bowl berth following the 2012 season, when he recorded 6.0 sacks, tied for the fifth-most by an NFL defensive tackle.
03/04/15 - DT Henry Melton had his contract voided after a disappointing season in Dallas. He never recovered from a knee injury that sidelined him in 2013 and the Cowboys didn't like his lack of competitive fire.
12/31/14 - DT Henry Melton (knee) was placed on reserve/injured by the Cowboys Tuesday (Dec. 30).
12/29/14 - DT Henry Melton injured his right knee against the Redskins and will likely be sidelined for the playoffs. He is out a few weeks for sure.
10/28/14 - DT Henry Melton had two sacks against the Redskins to mark his third career multi-sack game - first as a Cowboy - and the first time to do so since he had two against Indianapolis in the 2012 season opener while with Chicago. Melton leads the Cowboys with 3.5 sacks. He also saw time at defensive end for the first time.
