12/23/13 - DT Henry Melton, on injured reserve since after the season's third game, was arrested on misdemeanor assault and public intoxication in Texas after a fight Saturday night. Melton is a free agent after this season. Melton received over $8 million for this year as the team's franchise player, and suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
09/27/13 - The Chicago Bears signed defensive tackle Landon Cohen Friday and placed defensive tackle Henry Melton on injured reserve because of a knee injury.
09/02/13 - DT Henry Melton appears over his concussion and had been running before the last preseason game. The Bears like their depth at tackle now with Nate Collins and promising undrafted free agent acquisition Zach Minter, but the dropoff is large considering Melton had such a good all-purpose 2012 season that he became a franchise player. Consistency in both the pass rush and at producing stuffs on running plays are factors lost if Melton is unable to go.
