 Draft Scout *Malcolm Kelly News
08/31/10 - WR Malcolm Kelly, who battled hamstring issues throughout training camp, was placed on injured reserve.
08/30/10 - WR sidelined since July 31 with a hamstring injury, didn't travel to New York for last week's game and is in very serious jeopardy of being cut two years after being drafted in the second round because he re-injured the hamstring Monday.
08/29/10 - WR Malcolm Kelly, sidelined since July 31 with a hamstring injury, didn't travel to New York, and is serious jeopardy of being cut two years after being drafted in the second round.
08/22/10 - WR Malcolm Kelly's chiseled 6-foot-4, 226-pound body is the best of any of the 10 men fighting to be a Redskins receiver this season. However, Kelly's knee betrayed him as a rookie in 2008, limiting the second-round draft pick to five games. Now, Kelly's ailing hamstring might cost him his roster spot. The former Oklahoma star has been out four weeks and missed the first two preseason games because of the injury. "He can't practice therefore he can't show me anything," said coach Mike Shanahan. "He's doing everything he can with his treatment to get that hamstring better and that's all he can do. What he doesn't want to do is rush himself back too quick and he sets himself back to where he can't practice the rest of camp." Kelly knows he's playing with fire by not being on the field since Shanahan and the other coaches didn't draft him and don't know him well. "It is frustrating, especially with a new coaching staff," Kelly said. "Watching everybody else play eats you up on the inside, but you've got to be smart. You don't want to hurt yourself seriously. I feel (better), but it's not where I want it to be yet."
08/16/10 - WR Malcolm Kelly remains out with a sore hamstring. He hasn't practiced since the day camp opened, July 29, and won't likely play Saturday against the Ravens. Coach Mike Shanahan put Kelly's chances of playing in this weekend's game at "very, very slim." Shanahan said Kelly was going only "50-60 percent" in individual workouts on the side and won't soon return to team drills.
