 Draft Scout Justin Forsett News
10/14/14 - RB Justin Forsett continues to put a stronghold as the starter in the backfield. In Week 6 against, Tampa Bay, Forsett finished with 111 yards on 14 carries and once again did a good protecting the football. He set the tone with a 52-yard run on the first drive of the game. The Ravens finished with 169 total yards on the ground. "We've been chomping at the bit to get to that mark this season and it's just a blessing," Forsett said. "I thank God for the opportunity to just come out here play and actually run the ball. The offensive line did a heck of a job, and we got it today."
10/12/14 - RB Justin Forsett put together his first 100-yard rushing performance since 2009 as the Ravens rolled over the Bucs in a 48-17 win at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday. Playing in front of his family from Lakeland, Fla., Forsett picked up 111 yards on 14 carries, with the bulk of his yardage coming on a 52-yard dash on Baltimore's opening drive. Forsett said he dedicated the game to his grandmother, who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. "I'm keeping her in my mind and in my heart," Forsett said. "I thank God for the opportunity to just come out here and play and actually run the ball. The offensive line did a heck of a job, and we got it today."
10/06/14 - RB Justin Forsett scored the Ravens' only touchdown run on a tough run up the middle for 11 yards. Forsett also showed he is a dual threat. The veteran had 42 yards on six carries as the Ravens never committed to the run game. However, he also had seven catches for 55 yards, including a 26-yard scamper. "We spread out the offense a little bit," Forsett said. "We had to get some points quick. Jacoby (Jones) set us up with a big play. We thought that we got them a little tired a little bit and we were able to crease them off the outside."
10/05/14 - RB Justin Forsett was the Ravens' leading rusher and pass receiver. He caught seven passes for 55 yards and also rushed six times for 42 yards, scoring the team's only touchdown on an 11-yard run.
09/29/14 - RB Justin Forsett got his second consecutive start against the Panthers and responded with 66 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown. He also caught three passes for 31 yards. Forsett has been a pleasant surprise for the Ravens after being picked up as a free agent in the off-season. Forsett was originally drafted by the Seahawks in the seventh round of the NFL Draft in 2008 and has also played with Houston (2012) and Jacksonville (2013). He plans to make the most of the opportunity with the Ravens. "After all the experiences I had in my career, being hurt last year, being on the bottom of the depth chart last year, you never know," Forsett said. "I didn't know if I was ever going to play the game again. So every game I go out and play, I play it like it's my last. Thank God Baltimore called and I was able to get a spot here. The options were open and I started looking at other careers. I like player development and business, but I would rather be playing football."
