08/27/14 - DT Tommy Kelly was signed by the Cardinals Wednesday (Aug. 27). Tommy Kelly was cut by the New England Patriots early this week. He played in five games last year before tearing his ACL.
Kelly's signing is an attempt by the Cardinals to shore up the defensive line after the season-ending ACL injury to Darnell Dockett. Dockett underwent successful surgery to repair the knee ligaments Tuesday.
Kelly, 33, had 22 tackles and 2.5 sacks for the Patriots last year before going down with his season-ending injury. He had been working with New England's first unit much of the preseason before he was released.
08/25/14 - DT Tommy Kelly had his contract terminated by the Patriots Aug. 25. The veteran missed all but five games last season, his first in New England, to a torn ACL. Kelly had been working with the first unit at 3-4 defensive end this summer before getting his walking papers.
