Draft Scout Charles Tillman News
09/15/14 - CB Charles Tillman was placed on injured reserve for the second straight year with a ruptured triceps. He's 33 and working on a one-year contract, so it could be the end of his career.
Cameras caught Tillman with tears in his eyes on the sideline after trainer Chris Hanks attended to him.
"He was upset," cornerback Tim Jennings said. "We were trying to keep him upbeat and tell him to think positive."
After going on IR, Tillman said he would rehab the injury and left open the possibility he would try to play again.
"I know this feeling way too well, but this isn't the end of the road for me," he said, in a statement. "As I rehab my injury, my role will transition to helping coach and support my teammates."
The injury leaves the Bears weaker both in terms of numbers and height. Tillman was their only taller cornerback, and had a knack for shutting down Calvin Johnson in their matchups with Detroit.
09/15/14 - CB Charles Tillman was placed on season-ending injury reserve with what could be a career-threatening ruptured right triceps.
Tillman was in tears on the sideline at Levi's Stadium on Sunday night, when he hurt the same triceps that kept Tillman out of eight games in 2013.
"I appreciate the kind words of encouragement and support from all the Bears fans who have reached out to me," Tillman said. "I know this feeling way too well, but this isn't the end of the road for me. As I rehab my injury, my role will transition to helping coach and support my teammates. I will be at Halas Hall and do everything I can to help our team reach its goals."
09/14/14 - RCB Charles Tillman intercepted Colin Kaepernick in the second quarter of the Bears' win over the 49ers. However, Tillman sustained a triceps injury that sidelined him much of the second half, opening the door for CB Kyle Fuller to come off the bench and become one of the heroes of the game.
09/11/14 - CB Charles Tillman missed Wednesday's practice due to a coach's decision.
