10/03/15 - WR Steve Smith is "week-to-week" with a back injury, the Ravens announced Saturday.
The Ravens were responding to a report that Smith has four broken bones in his back and another report that those four broken bones are ribs.
Ravens senior vice president of public and community relations Kevin Byrne put out a statement: "While the Ravens do not give specifics about injuries out of respect to the men on our team and HIPAA laws, we want to dispel rumors and stories currently being reported about Steve Smith Sr.'s injury. He does have a back injury. It is not a surgical issue. His status is currently week-to-week."
Smith left Thursday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a lower back contusion.
10/03/15 - WR Steve Smith (back) was listed as week-to-week Oct. 3 amid reports he has broken bones in his back. Smith was forced out of the game late in the third quarter Oct. 1 against the Steelers after a hit by linebacker Lawrence Timmons. He did not play in the fourth quarter or overtime. 10/01/15 - WR Steve Smith Sr. left Thursday night's 23-20 overtime victory at Pittsburgh in the third quarter with a lower back contusion and did not return. He was limited to four catches and 24 yards after having a combined 23 receptions for 336 in the previous two games, amassing at least 150 yards in each game. He also had five receptions for 101 yards last season when the Ravens won at Pittsburgh in the playoffs.
09/21/15 - WR Steve Smith caught 10 passes for 150 yards and passed Torry Holt (920 receptions) for 17th on the all-time list). Smith plans to retire at the end of this season.
09/20/15 - WR Steve Smith Sr. caught 10 passes for 150 yards Sunday in a 37-33 loss to Oakland. The last time he had a higher total of receiving yards was when he caught eight passes for 181 yards on Oct. 2, 2011, with Carolina at Chicago. He hadn't enjoyed a double-digit-reception game since he grabbed 10 for 136 yards on Oct. 14, 2007, with Carolina at Arizona.
