 Draft Scout Steve Smith News
11/24/14 - WR Steve Smith did another number on the Saints' secondary, just as he did for so many season as a member of the Carolina Panthers. His first-quarter touchdown catch was a thing of beauty, as he went up high over CB Brian Dixon to snag the ball just inside end zone. Smith caught four passes for 89 yards, including a 40-yarder. "That Steve Smith catch was about as good as you'll ever see," Harbaugh said. "He was tackled and he still comes down with the catch."
11/17/14 - WR Steve Smith Sr. has played a limited role in the offense over the past three games after a red-hot start. Smith had more than 100 yards receiving in four of his first six games. However, Smith has been held to less than 40 yards receiving in the past three games. Offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak said the offense has simply tried to spread the ball around and he has not seen opposing defense's doing anything differently against Smith. "You have to get all of your playmakers the ball," Kuniak said. "Steve is doing a good job, and hopefully we get him back on the track that he was on earlier in the year. But he's playing hard, working hard."
10/14/14 - WR Steve Smith has proven to be the Ravens' most vital offseason pickup. Smith was targeted six times and caught five passes for 110 yards with a 56-yard touchdown. He has more than 100 receiving yards in four of the first six games. "They had been doing some very creative things, coach just told us to stay with it and keep doing our jobs and that's what I tried to do," Smith said.
10/08/14 - WR Steve Smith has 98 career receptions against the Buccaneers in 22 games for 1,404 yards and six touchdowns.
10/05/14 - WR Steve Smith continued to shine. A week after catching two touchdown passes against the Carolina Panthers, Smith caught five passes for 34 yards, including a long pass play of 17 yards. After last week's game in which he caught seven passes for 139 yards against his former team, Smith caught the close attention of Colts defenders. Through five games, the 35-year-old has caught 30 passes for 463 yards.
