10/20/17 - LB NaVorro Bowman, three days after signing with the Raiders, started and made a team-high 11 tackles Thursday as Oakland beat the Chiefs.
Bowman had one tackle for loss and a quarterback hit on a blitz that forced a Chiefs punt late in the game. "This is a great story," Raiders coach Jack Del Rio said. "He plays just about the whole game and calls the defense. I just absolutely love the football player in him. He's a hunting dog. He loves to play."

The 49ers agreed to the 29-year-old Bowman's request to be released after trade scenarios were investigated, according to general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan.
10/13/17 - LB NaVorro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers was released by the team on Friday after the veteran expressed displeasure at coming out of last week's game against the Indianapolis Colts. The team agreed to the 29-year-old Bowman's request to be released after trade scenarios were investigated, according to general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan. The 6-foot, 242-pound Bowman was originally selected by the 49ers in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Penn State. The eight-year veteran earned First-Team All-Pro honors four times in his career (2011-13, 2015), as well as three trips to the Pro Bowl (2013-14, 2016). During his career, he has appeared in 89 games (74 starts) and registered 808 tackles, 12.5 sacks, four interceptions (returning one for a touchdown), seven forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and 28 passes defensed. Bowman also led the team in tackles in four of the previous six seasons (2011-13, 2015).
10/09/17 - MLB NaVorro Bowman was pulled from the game for 18 of the Indianapolis Colts' 76 snaps in Sunday's loss. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan disclosed afterward the benching was done to keep his veteran fresh. Bowman led the 49ers with 10 tackles.
