01/15/18 - QB Sam Bradford was active as Minnesota's backup quarterback after spending the past nine weeks on injured reserve following knee surgery. Teddy Bridgewater, who was the backup the past eight games, was inactive.
01/13/18 - QB Sam Bradford was activated off injured reserve, the team announced on Saturday. Bradford was placed on injured reserve after undergoing knee surgery on Nov. 7, but reportedly it was not related to the two procedures he had to repair a torn ACL in 2013 and 2014.
01/12/18 - QB Sam Bradford may or may not dress for Sunday's divisional matchup against the New Orleans Saints, according to coach Mike Zimmer.
Zimmer told reporters that Bradford is working his way with the other quarterbacks but "has a ways to go" after completing his fifth practice since returning last week while competing for practice time with Teddy Bridgewater. Bradford underwent knee surgery on Nov. 7 and was placed on injured reserve.
01/08/18 - QB Sam Bradford continued practicing on Monday as the Vikings consider whether to activate him off injured reserve. It's unlikely that they will do so for the divisional playoff game against the Saints.
Bradford's only full game played this season came in Week 1 at home against the Saints. He posted a career-high 143.0 passer rating while completing 27-of-32 passes for 346 yards, three touchdowns and no turnovers. But he's also practiced only three times since having surgery to repair his bothersome left knee.
01/03/18 - QB Sam Bradford, who hasn't played since Oct. 9 and had left knee surgery on Nov. 7, returned to practice on Tuesday. He practiced again Wednesday before the players were given four days off.
The Vikings will host a divisional playoff game on Jan. 14. It's unlikely that he'll be activated by then. The Vikings have three weeks in which to activate him.
