Draft Scout Adrian Clayborn News
09/15/14 - DE Adrian Clayborn (biceps) was placed on reserve/injured by the Buccaneers Friday (Sept. 12).
11/27/13 - DE Adrian Clayborn has been used almost exclusively on the weak side of the defense (opposite the tight end) this season. Another change is that he has been given the freedom to rush from a two-point stance, or standing up. It helps Clayborn get better view of the play and get off blocks.
"There's times he is and you notice he's on the left, he's on the right, and we're moving guys around," coach Greg Schiano said. "Again all things to situate for the defense and for the individual, it helps him in a lot of ways depending on where he lines up and I won't get into the specifics because then we give away an advantage or what I perceive as an advantage, but it does help him and it's all related to separation from blockers, vision, and all of those things that it gives him. Different pass rushes that he may be running and he does a good job of mixing it up."
09/18/13 - DE Adrian Clayborn has shown little ill effects coming off a torn ACL he suffered in Week 3 last season. He had a sack and forced fumble negated by penalty last week. Clayborn was limited in practice Wednesday with a hip injury.
08/09/13 - DE Adrian Clayborn has a groin injury and did not play in Thursday's preseason game.
09/24/12 - DE Adrian Clayborn suffered torn ligaments in his right knee, coach Greg Schiano confirmed Monday, and will require surgery in a few weeks. He was injured early in the fourth quarter of the Bucs' 16-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys Sunday.
"Unfortunately, it's not a good one. Adrian is going to have to have surgery, so he's done for the season," Schiano said during his Monday news conference. "You know, it'll probably be a couple weeks before it happens that he has it. Certainly, it's unfortunate for him and the team.
"It's a knee. I don't know exactly what it is. It's one of those three-letters deals. It may be more than one. I got to see. They're not sure yet."
