09/23/14 - RB Shaun Draughn was signed by the Chargers Tuesday (Sept. 23). Draughn, 6-0, 205, has played for Kansas City, Baltimore, Indianapolis and Chicago. He originally signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted rookie in 2011 out of North Carolina. He spent most of his rookie season on the Chiefs' practice squad and appeared in one game. In 2012, Draughn played in all 16 games, recording 59 carries for 233 yards and two scores, along with 24 catches for 158 yards. Last season, he played in three games for Baltimore and had a brief stint on Indianapolis' roster. This season, Draughn signed a one-year contract with the Bears and played in Chicago's first two games before being waived Sept. 16. He recorded four special teams tackles for the Bears. Draughn also has experience as a kickoff returner. Between Kansas City and Baltimore, he has a combined 25 returns for 590 yards (23.6 average).
09/16/14 - RB Shaun Draughn was waived by the Bears Tuesday (Sept. 16).
08/12/14 - The elevation of free-agent acquisition Shaun Draughn to second-team running back seemed a surprise considering the Bears drafted Ka'Deem Carey in the fourth round, presumably to be the backup. Michael Ford also figured to be in the running for the backup spot.
"Sometimes it just takes time," quarterback Jay Cutler said. "You can't expect some of these young guys to jump in and for it to click right away. It didn't for us when we were veterans last year running this offense, so it's definitely not going to for rookies."
04/30/14 - RB Shaun Draughn was signed by the Bears April 23.
