Draft Scout John Jerry News
03/05/15 - OL John Jerry, unrestricted FA update, was originally projected to be a depth signing but was forced into the lineup due to injuries. He played decently and could still have value to the team as a veteran backup guard/tackle if he is willing to come back on another one-year deal.
09/04/14 - OL John Jerry is projected to be the starting right guard for the Giants on Monday night. Jerry wouldn't confirm the team's plans to the media, only saying, "My own expectation is to go out and do whatever it requires to get a win."
05/29/14 - OL John Jerry, whom the team signed as an unrestricted free agent in March, underwent a scope on his knee recently. Jerry is still experiencing some swelling and has been kept inside for treatment.
03/21/14 - G John Jerry signed with the Giants Friday.
Jerry, formerly of the Miami Dolphins, was one of the offensive linemen named in NFL investigator Ted Wells' report of the team's bullying scandal.
Jerry, Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey were named by Wells as players who participated in "a pattern of harassment" against teammate Jonathan Martin, who left the team in October and has since signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
"We did our homework on John, like we do with every player we sign. We were satisfied with the answers we got about John as a player and person," general manager Jerry Reese said in a statement.
Jerry, 27, has started every game at right guard in each of the last two seasons. The 349-pounder has also played tackle. In four years with the Dolphins, he has played 57 games.
12/11/13 - --RG John Jerry remains the only OL to start every game this season. Jerry has done a nice job as the mainstay in a shaky OL.
