Post-Draft Outlook:
A closer look at the Bills' picks: Round 1/11 - Aaron Maybin, DE/OLB, 6-4, 249, Penn State...The Bills addressed their sorry pass rush by adding the player many scouts believed was the best pure speed pass rusher available. Buffalo locked on Maybin early and was elated to find help for a defense that has just 50 sacks the last two seasons. A fierce hitter with a long reach to tip balls and disrupt plays, Maybin also has the ability to drop into coverage in zone dogs. His big drawback is lack of experience; he's a redshirt sophomore who had just 10 starts in college and his ability to make an impact as a rookie is in question. The potential is all there. In the 10 games Maybin started last fall, he registered a Big Ten-best 12 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. Maybin, who played at 230 pounds in college, has bulked up to 249 and his 40-dash times have remained respectable (4.78 at combine, 4.54 on campus). How that extra weight transfers to the field and how long he can keep the weight on during training camp and the regular season are big question marks. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout *Aaron Maybin News
11/14/12 - LB Aaron Maybin was waived by the Jets Tuesday. Maybin led the Jets in sacks (six) and forced fumbles last year (four) and was expected to emerge as a starter this season, but he struggled in limited duty and had just four tackles, one quarterback hit and no sacks in a mere 119 snaps. Maybin was a healthy scratch against the Seahawks on Sunday. Rex Ryan didn't rule out the possibility Wednesday of eventually re-signing Maybin.
11/11/12 - LB Aaron Maybin was inactive against the Seahawks Sunday. Maybin led the Jets last year with six sacks and four forced fumbles as a situational pass rusher and was expected by many to emerge as a star this season, but he had just four tackles in the Jets' first eight games.
08/19/12 - LB Aaron Maybin continued his impressive preseason Saturday by partially blocking a Steve Weatherford punt in the second quarter. Maybin, who led the Jets with six sacks despite playing only in a situational pass rushing role last year, displayed his versatility throughout training camp by also playing at inside linebacker and in the "3-technique." Not bad for someone whose career appeared endangered 12 months ago. Maybin was released by both the Bills - for whom he didn't record a sack in two subpar seasons after he was selected in the first round of the 2009 draft - and the Jets last summer and didn't re-sign with the Jets until late September. "Night and day difference," outside linebackers coach Mike Smith told the New York Post. "I think Aaron learned the more you know and you feel more comfortable out there, the faster you can play. Even though you're fast when you don't have to think and you can go, you play faster."
04/17/12 - OLB Aaron Maybin, who resurrected his career with the Jets last season after two disappointing years with Buffalo, re-signed with the Jets.
