Draft Scout Shareece Wright News
10/18/15 - CB Shareece Wright won't solve the Ravens' problems in their short-handed secondary. Making his Ravens debut, the former 49er gave up a 76-yard touchdown pass to WR Torrey Smith in the second quarter and struggled throughout the game. Wright, who was never activated for a game with San Francisco, was released by the 49ers on Oct. 10. He was forced into action because of injuries to Ravens starting CB Lardarius Webb, who was inactive, and backup CB Kyle Arrington. Wright was burned on a double move by Smith. "This was my first game as part of this defense, and I gave up a big play," Wright said. "I know that's on me, and I'll take ownership on that. I can't lie about that. It was perfectly executed, but I've got to stay on top of that and not be too aggressive."
10/12/15 - CB Shareece Wright had his contract terminated by the 49ers Saturday (Oct. 10). Wright (5-11, 182) signed with the 49ers on March 14 and was inactive in each of the team's first four games this season.
10/12/15 - CB Shareece Wright was waived by the 49ers on the eve of Sunday's game so that the club could promoted G Andrew Tiller from the practice squad. Wright was never active for a regular-season game for the 49ers after having been signed as a free agent over the off-season.
09/29/15 - CB Shareece Wright was inactive for Sunday's game at Arizona. The free-agent signee has yet to suit up for the 49ers despite having received a $1.5 million signing bonus to join the team. Wright reportedly told the 49ers on Monday that he wants to be traded or released.
09/27/15 - CB Shareece Wright was inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals and then took to social media, saying in a tweet (that later was deleted) that the decision to bench him was political. Coach Jim Tomsula denied that. "No. That is an incorrect statement," he said. "It had nothing to do with anything."
