Post-Draft Outlook: A closer look at the Cowboys picks: Round 6/179 -- Sam Young, OT, 6-8, 316, Notre Dame: He started four straight years at Notre Dame, which speaks volumes. He blocks his man, although he lacks great lateral quickness. Young will be tried out at right tackle. - by The Sports Xchange

Draft Scout Sam Young News
11/20/17 - T Sam Young ended the Tampa Bay game at right tackle after RG Jermon Bushrod left with a foot injury in the third quarter.
09/03/17 - T Sam Young was released Saturday but there's a thought Miami might bring him back after not having to guarantee his salary. Young had been serving as the backup on both sides.
08/19/17 - T Sam Young, the primary backup on the right and left sides, had a rough night against Baltimore. Young was flagged twice for holding, costing Miami 50 yards of offense. Head coach Adam Gase gave Young a vote of confidence after the game, however.
10/31/16 - OT Sam Young might be used as a sixth offensive linemen against the Jets. That's because it's questionable whether TEs Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims, both sidelined with concussions, will return for Sunday's game. Miami used tight ends MarQueis Gray and Dominique Jones against the Bills and brought in Young for short-yardage situations. Asked whether Young could run a seam route, coach Adam Gase had a one-word answer. "No," he said.
10/26/16 - OT Sam Young got lots of work as the third OT last week against Buffalo and that could happen again this week. It doesn't appear TEs Jordan Cameron (concussion) or Dion Sims (concussion) will be ready to play against the New York Jets (Nov. 6).
