01/10/16 - QB Andy Dalton's season essentially ended against the Steelers on Dec. 13 when he fractured his right thumb making a tackle. But it officially ended Saturday in an 18-16 loss to Pittsburgh in an AFC wild-card game. "It's tough not being able to help this team," Dalton said. "I thought AJ (McCarron) did a good job, he fought back, big touchdown at the end of the game when we needed it." Dalton finished with 3,250 yards and 25 touchdowns and seven INTs making it the best season of his five-year career.
01/08/16 - QB Andy Dalton was officially ruled out by the Bengals for Saturday night's AFC wild-card playoff game against the Steelers.
Dalton, who fractured his right thumb making a tackle following an interception against the Steelers on Dec. 13, had his cast removed earlier this week. He did participate in practice and worked on gripping the football but did not make any throws.

But coach Marvin Lewis wouldn't offer any new details during Monday's news conference. Dalton has been working out on the side during practice. His status for the playoffs is not yet certain.
12/31/15 - QB Andy Dalton worked out on the side during Wednesday's practice, his first activity since fracturing his right thumb in a loss to the Steelers on Dec. 13. He didn't throw any passes but simulated drop backs and footwork. Dalton still is wearing a cast on his hand.
