Draft Scout Andy Dalton News
04/30/14 - QB Andy Dalton said one of the biggest reasons quarterbacks are being paid such astronomical amounts of money is because they are asked to be the face of the franchise. For a player at a crossroads of contract negotiations in his Bengals career, it begged the obvious question: Do you think you're the face of the franchise?
"I do," Dalton said. "I feel like in everything that Marvin has said, that (offensive coordinator) Hue (Jackson) has said and everybody here has told me that and has told everybody that. I'm confident with that. I hope to spend a lot of my career here. Hopefully, we can get something done."
01/09/13 - QB Andy Dalton's regular-season record as the starter is 19-13, for a .594 winning percentage. That's the best in Bengals history for any quarterback with 10 or more starts. Virgil Carter stands second at .545 (12-10) and Ken Anderson is third at .529 (91-81).
12/26/12 - QB Andy Dalton's 26 touchdown passes are six more than he threw all of last season. He has only three in the past four games and didn't have any in last week's win at Pittsburgh.
The four rushing touchdowns by Dalton are the most by a Bengals quarterback since 2002 when Jon Kitna also had four.
12/02/12 - QB Andy Dalton has thrown four pick sixes on the season. The most by a Bengal was Carson Palmer with six in 2010.
11/14/12 - QB Andy Dalton, through nine games, has posted a passing yards average that projects to a Bengals record. With an average of 258.8 yards, he's on pace for 4,140 yards. The club record is 4,131 set by Carson Palmer in 2007.
Dalton, who was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after throwing a career-high four touchdowns against the Giants, is also on pace to tie Palmer's season record of 32 touchdown passes in 2005.
