Draft Scout Andy Dalton News
11/24/15 - QB Andy Dalton went 22 of 39 for 315 yards and two TDs which amounts to a 99.8 rating. But two glaring misses aren't prominent in the stat sheet. He overthrew Marvin Jones on what head coach Marvin Lewis dubbed a "layup" and underthrew A.J. Green on what could have been a game-winning TD with a minute left. Dalton didn't throw an interception but did lose a fumble leading to a crucial field goal in the fourth quarter.
11/22/15 - QB Andy Dalton, despite struggling during a pivotal stretch early in the second half, clearly played well enough to lead the Bengals to a come-from-behind victory. He completed 22 of 39 passes for 315 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Dalton was still lamenting a near touchdown pass to WR A.J. Green. "I left it short," he said. "It got bobbled around, and I don't know what the rule is when he's not the first one to touch it and when he stepped out of bounds and all that kind of stuff."
11/18/15 - QB Andy Dalton had another rough game under the lights on Monday, going 22 of 38 for 197 yards and an interception in the 10-6 loss to the Texans. He heard it from the crowd, too. "There were a couple of boos out there, which is fine," he said. "It's part of it. There were a couple of times that we didn't put anything out there."
11/18/15 - QB Andy Dalton delivered a harsh retort to Texans defensive end J.J. Watt's "Red Ryder BB Gun" comment made during a postgame chat with ESPN's Lisa Salters. Dalton called Watt's mockery of his 'Red Rifle' nickname "disappointing" and added that it showed what Watt is about. But on Wednesday cooler heads prevailed. Dalton told reporters that he overreacted. "I shouldn't have reacted the way I did without actually hearing what he said," Dalton said. "I'm responding to what an interviewer tells me he said. From that standpoint, my reaction wasn't warranted." Watt had two tackles and one of three sacks by Houston's defense, which held Dalton without a touchdown pass and intercepted him once.
