Post-Draft Outlook:
BEST PICK: Cornerback Kyle Wilson: The Boise State product is a perfect fit for Rex Ryan's style of defense. He's adept at man-to-man coverage and isn't afraid to deliver a hit. Still plays with a chip on his shoulder because colleges from BCS conferences didn't recruit him, not even Rutgers, which is located in his hometown of Piscataway, N.J. He likes to back up his brashness and bravado, so he also is an emotional fit for a Ryan defense.

A closer look at the Jets' picks: Round 1/29 -- Kyle Wilson, CB, 5-10, 195, Boise State, Wilson had 11 interceptions in college, including one on his first play as a freshman, and had three punt returns for touchdowns during the 2008 campaign. He will step in immediately in the Jets' nickel and dime packages and has the potential to be a full-time starter in the future. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Kyle Wilson News
09/01/10 - CB Kyle Wilson hasn't backed down from challenge of starting immediately with Darrelle Revis holding out. Already has displayed good coverage skills. Will move into more of a backup role, covering slot receivers, if and when Revis returns. Also might return punts if Revis comes back.
08/31/10 - CB Kyle Wilson will be expected to play "100 percent of the snaps" on defense, coach Rex Ryan said on Tuesday, an indirect reference to the ongoing holdout of CB Darelle Revis.
08/11/10 - CB Kyle Wilson is competing with Dwight Lowery for the starting cornerback job currently available with Darrelle Revis holding out. Lowery recently told secondary coach Dennis Thurman to give Wilson more reps. "The more he can get out there and be exposed to that kind of stuff, the better his progression is going to be," Lowery said. Lowery, however, would be in contention for the job he's pushing Wilson for, an unselfish act which pleasantly surprised coach Rex Ryan.
08/08/10 - CB Kyle Wilson, who signed a five-year, $13 million contract with $7 million in guaranteed money one day before camp began, started in place of holdout corner Darrelle Revis in the Jets' intrasquad scrimmage.
07/31/10 - CB Kyle Wilson, the 29th overall pick, agreed to a five-year deal worth $13 million, including $7.12 million guaranteed, according to ESPN. "I'm a millionaire!!!! And headed to camp," Wilson tweeted.
