Draft Scout Doug Baldwin News
12/27/15 - WR Doug Baldwin became the seventh Seahawks receiver to go over 1,000 yards in a season while making his franchise-record 14th touchdown reception of the season Sunday.
12/24/15 - WR Doug Baldwin (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday and Thursday. He is considered a game-time decision for Sunday when the Seahawks play the Rams.
12/23/15 - WR Doug Baldwin (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday.
12/21/15 - WR Doug Baldwin is seemingly setting records every week.
Baldwin matched the Seahawks franchise record for touchdown receptions in a single season with his 13th touchdown of the season, and second of the day, from quarterback Russell Wilson on Sunday.
Baldwin equaled the 30-year-old mark set by Daryl Turner in 1985 with 13 touchdowns in a season with two games still remaining.
However, Baldwin wasn't interested at all in hearing about his accomplishments right now.
"This stuff means absolutely nothing," Baldwin said. "I've had four games that we've been OK. Five games, whatever it is, but no. When it's all said and done, what have you done over the course of your career? That's what I'm going to be focused on and so you guys can keep talking about it all you want to. It doesn't mean anything to me. When I retire then maybe we'll look back on it and see what happens, but right now I'm just focused on this season. Focused on being the best I can and serve my team the best that I can."
Baldwin may not want to reflect on his accomplishments over the last month, but there is no denying how prolific Baldwin has been.
Baldwin and Jerry Rice (in 1987) are the only receivers in history with 10 touchdown receptions in a four-game span. Baldwin joined Cris Carter (1995) and Calvin Johnson (2011) as the only receivers with at least two touchdown catches in four straight games.
With one more touchdown, Baldwin becomes the solo leader for most touchdown receptions in a single season for the Seahawks. With 95 more receiving yards, he'd become just the fifth player in team history to have 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns in a single season.
"There's not much that he can't do," cornerback Richard Sherman said. "So for him to be mentioned in the same breath as a Hall of Famer, and one of the best players to ever play this game, it's definitely a blessing. But it just shows the type of player he can be when given the opportunity."
12/07/15 - WR Doug Baldwin caught five passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns against the Vikings on Sunday. Over the last four games, Baldwin has caught 24 passes for 433 yards and six touchdowns. For the season he's caught 55 passes for 778 yards and eight touchdowns, which is already a career-high.
