08/29/14 - RB Joe Banyard probably won't make the 53-man roster, but the second-year pro probably turned heads around the league with an impressive performance in the preseason finale at Tennessee. He ran for 111 yards on just 18 carries. The Vikings don't have a spot for him, but would like to add him to their practice squad.
08/17/14 - RB Joe Banyard, who is competing for a job on the practice squad or a roster spot with another NFL team, had a 56-yard run in the second half on Saturday. It was the sixth-longest run in Vikings preseason history. Banyard was caught from behind, but did show good strength in getting around the corner.

06/07/12 - RB Joe Banyard was signed by the Saints. Banyard spent his final two years of college eligibility at Texas-El Paso where he rushed for 1,490 yards with 14 touchdowns. As a senior in 2011, he rushed for 867 yards with six touchdowns on 127 carries to go with 12 receptions for 67 yards. The Sweetwater, Texas native played two seasons at UTEP after transferring from Texas Christian. He was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars following the 2012 NFL Draft.
