Draft Scout Joe Banyard News
09/15/14 - RB Joe Banyard has been elevated to the Vikings 53-man roster after spending the first week of the regular season on the team's practice squad. Banyard originally joined the Vikings as a practice squad player in 2012. Banyard spent the final 15 weeks of the 2013 season with the Vikings, the final three weeks on the team's active roster. Banyard made his first career NFL appearance against Philadelphia on 12/15/2013 and caught his first career reception on an 11-yard pass from Matt Cassel at Cincinnati on 12/22/2013.
08/29/14 - RB Joe Banyard probably won't make the 53-man roster, but the second-year pro probably turned heads around the league with an impressive performance in the preseason finale at Tennessee. He ran for 111 yards on just 18 carries. The Vikings don't have a spot for him, but would like to add him to their practice squad.
08/17/14 - RB Joe Banyard, who is competing for a job on the practice squad or a roster spot with another NFL team, had a 56-yard run in the second half on Saturday. It was the sixth-longest run in Vikings preseason history. Banyard was caught from behind, but did show good strength in getting around the corner.
09/01/13 - RB Joe Banyard was waived by the Vikings Saturday.
09/13/12 - RB Joe Banyard, who had been on IR since the roster cutdown to 53 players, received an injury settlement from the team and was waived.
