 Draft Scout Don Barclay News
01/10/13 - RT Don Barclay will look to build on what head coach Mike McCarthy praised as the undrafted rookie's "best game so far in his string of starts" when the Packers play at San Francisco in a divisional playoff game Saturday night. Making his fifth straight start, Barclay held Minnesota's talented combination of Brian Robison and Everson Griffen to one sack and three tackles in the Packers' 24-10 win in a wild-card game last Saturday.
12/20/12 - G/T Don Barclay is entrenched as the starting right tackle. The Packers list him as a starter on the depth chart this week for the first time. The undrafted rookie has started the last two games at right tackle and done a capable job, allowing T.J. Lang to move back to his natural spot of left guard after he moved over for three games to replace an injured Bryan Bulaga.
12/12/12 - G/T Don Barclay is likely to make a second straight start at right tackle Sunday, when the Packers play at rival Chicago. Although T.J. Lang, who had moved from left guard to right tackle to replace an injured Bryan Bulaga, has a chance to play this weekend after missing the last game because of an ankle injury, Barclay is continuing to line up with the starters in practice this week.
12/11/12 - G/T Don Barclay received praise Monday from head coach Mike McCarthy after making his first pro start Sunday night in the 27-20 win over Detroit. Barclay replaced an injured T.J. Lang at right tackle. "He's getting better," McCarthy said of Barclay, who took over for Lang the last two-plus quarters of the previous game. "I thought Don played better this week than he did last week." Even if Lang is deemed healthy enough this week to resume playing in the game Sunday at Chicago, Barclay could remain the starter at right tackle with Lang moved back to his natural spot of left guard.
