Draft Scout Andre Branch News
09/19/16 - DE Andre Branch, playing on the right side, had trouble "setting the edge," or turning running plays back to the inside against New England on Sunday. The Patriots kept going to the left side, which is where Branch was playing, in the fourth quarter. Miami will have to do something to address that or get used to a steady diet of runs to the offense's left side.
09/14/16 - DE Andre Branch had four tackles last week against Seattle and was active against the run and pass. Branch's contribution might be more pivotal this week because DE Mario Williams (concussion) could be out and DT Earl Mitchell (calf) was placed on injured reserve. Branch, the veteran who came over from Jacksonville as a free agent, was steady through training camp and preseason.
03/16/16 - DE Andre Branch, an unrestricted free agent, was signed by the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday.
He missed the first three games of the 2015 because of injury, but played in 13 games for Jacksonville, including 10 starts, and collected four sacks, two forced fumbles and four passes defensed last season.
12/16/15 - DE Andre Branch was limited in practice Wednesday with a groin injury, but is likely to play Sunday.
12/13/15 - DE Andre Branch has not produced at the rate the Jaguars were hoping for in the first 12 games and that's led to speculation that he would be released during the offseason. But for at least a week, talk of Branch not returning to the Jaguars in 2016 will be quelled as the fourth-year pro hit the jackpot in Sunday's game against the Colts. He was credited with four tackles, two sacks for a minus-28 yards and he caused a fumble, picked it up and took it 49 yards to the end zone for the Jaguars' only touchdown of the first half. "Let's give credit where it's due," head coach Gus Bradley said. "We really challenged him. We talk about uncomfortable now, it was uncomfortable or him this week. Not once did I see a dip in his spirit. He had great energy the whole week. He took the challenge and he's always played hard. It was just a matter of doing it consistently right every play."
