03/19/12 - For me, the highlight of Old Dominion's first NFL pro day was when Chris Cabott strode across the practice fields behind the Powhatan Avenue football complex in a black suit, carrying an oversized leather briefcase, the afternoon sun exploding off his aviator shades. There was something almost cinematic, a "show-me- the-money" quality, to the scene. Cabott arrived from Philadelphia to support his client, 6-foot-2, 304-pound interior defensive lineman Ronnie Cameron, the most decorated player in ODU's short football history. Cabott didn't walk across the shimmering artificial turf in slow motion, though that's what it seemed like. Cameron's agent appeared suddenly and, dressed as he was, out of context. Everybody else on the field Wednesday was in shorts or some other casual wear. But anyone in need of reminding that serious business was being conducted before 15 or so sets of NFL eyes only had to look at the man in the black suit, carrying the big briefcase. Cabott said that Cameron, who some project as a fifth- to seventh-round draft pick, is scheduled to work out privately for teams. That includes a trip to the Giants' complex on April 12, Cameron disclosed. And a meeting with San Diego Chargers management, followed by a workout with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Also representing ODU's small senior class at pro day were defensive lineman Edmon McClam, quarterback Thomas DeMarco, wide receiver Prentice Gill, center Jeremy Hensley, offensive tackle Ryan Jensen and linebacker J.J. Williams. Cameron, though, was the main attraction. - Bob Molinaro, The Virginian-Pilot
