 Draft Scout Tank Carder News
04/30/12 - The Bills acquired one of the draft's more inspirational players and a member of the All-Name Team in Tank Carder, a linebacker from TCU. The former BMX cycle champion who also overcame serious injuries in a car accident, earned his nickname as a baby. "A family friend started calling me 'Tank' and I responded to it," Carder said. "I was like 33 pounds when I was 18 months old." His given name? Ricky, Jr., after his dad. - The Sports Xchange

03/09/12 - Fourteen former Horned Frogs worked out for NFL scouts at Friday's TCU Pro Day. The day began with measurements and bench press reps in the Frogs' new Physical Performance Center before moving to the Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility for timings and various drills. The following players participated: tight end Logan Brock, defensive end Braylon Broughton, linebacker Tank Carder, safety Tekerrein Cuba, offensive tackle Robert Deck, offensive guard Kyle Dooley, safety Johnny Fobbs, linebacker Kris Gardner, wide receiver Antoine Hicks, wide receiver Jonathan Jones, punter Anson Kelton, cornerback/return specialist Greg McCoy, offensive tackle Jeff Olson and cornerback Jason Teague. Former TCU standouts and current NFL players Marcus Cannon (New England Patriots), Andy Dalton (Cincinnati Bengals), Colin Jones (San Francisco 49ers), Jeremy Kerley (New York Jets), Jake Kirkpatrick (Indianapolis Colts), Marshall Newhouse (Green Bay Packers), Daryl Washington (Arizona Cardinals) and Malcolm Williams (New England Patriots) were in attendance to support their former teammates. Dalton was the quarterback at Pro Day for the TCU tight ends and wide receivers who ran pass routes. During his 11-year tenure as TCU's head coach, Gary Patterson has had 29 players drafted with 60 in NFL camps. Sixteen former TCU players are currently on NFL rosters. - TCU football
03/06/12 - SCOUTS IDENTIFY 5 UNDERRATED COMBINE PERFORMERS: ILB Tank Carder, TCU: Much like Boston College's Luke Kuechly, Carder has been type-cast as an instinctive, high-motor defender throughout his career but the two-time defending Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year proved to be a much better all-around athlete at the Combine than anyone expected. The 6-2, 236 pound Carder clocked in a sub 4.70 time in the 40-yard dash (4.69 seconds officially) and demonstrated his agility in the three-cone (6.89) and short-shuttle drills (4.18) that some teams place a great deal of value in when scouting linebackers. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
