 Draft Scout Melvin Ingram News
11/20/17 - DE Melvin Ingram returned a third-quarter fumble, forced by defensive end Joey Bosa, 39 yards for a score.
09/25/17 - DE Melvin Ingram had three of the Chargers' five sacks.
08/28/17 - DE Melvin Ingram had a 76-yard fumble recovery in the Rams game. He seems to be energized and playing well in the new 4-3 scheme.
06/13/17 - DE Melvin Ingram was at Monday's minicamp practice, the first of three before the Chargers wrap up that portion of their offseason workouts. Ingram arrived after agreeing to a four-year deal worth about $60 million, with around $40 million of it guaranteed. The Charger had initially placed the franchise tag on Ingram before the two sides reached an agreement. "It's a big relief,'' said Ingram, who's had 18.5 sacks the past two years. "Now that it's over it's all fun and games and you get to do what you like to do."
03/02/17 - LB Melvin Ingram was retained via the franchise tag. Coach Anthony Lynn said Ingram does more than pester quarterbacks. "He's a big piece of the puzzle," Lynn said. "He's an outstanding pass rusher, but he plays the run well. His stats -- I think he had (eight) sacks or something like that -- but when you look at his impact on the game, his quarterback hits, hit pressures, he just did an outstanding job. I love the way he plays the game." The Chargers were eager to keep the tandem of Joey Bosa, the NFL defensive rookie of the year, and Ingram together.
