Draft Scout Jarvis Jenkins News
08/04/15 - DE Jarvis Jenkins suffered a dislocated finger Sunday, Aug. 2. He had the finger put back into place and returned to practice.
06/17/15 - DE Jarvis Jenkins is the Bears' only defensive lineman with real 3-4 experience, but he is finding some differences in the version coordinator Vic Fangio employs and what he was using while with the Washington Redskins.
"Under Vic, it's a lot more up-field," Jenkins said. "It's a little more freedom -- not much -- but his defense is a little more technical because you've got a lot of guys tied into one play. It's a little bit more technical and your job and your responsibility is very major because if one person messes up, it screws up the whole continuity of the defense."
03/24/15 - DE Jarvis Jenkins left the Redskins for the Bears Tuesday (March 24), agreeing to terms on a one-year contract. Last year, the 26-year-old Jenkins started 14 games for the Redskins and had a career-best 29 tackles, including three for loss. In four seasons with the Redskins, Jenkins made 33 starts and had 76 tackles. He sat out the 2011 season because of a knee injury.
03/05/15 - DE Jarvis Jenkins, unrestricted FA update, was playing well when he tore his right knee in the third game of his rookie preseason in 2011. Jenkins didn't record a sack while starting 28 games in 2012 and 2014. While he wants to return, it's likely that Jenkins will be part of an overhaul of the line underway under new coordinator Joe Barry.
10/30/14 - DE Jarvis Jenkins took full practice again on Thursday despite injuring a foot at Dallas.
