Draft Scout *Jimmy Clausen News
09/27/15 - QB Jimmy Clausen wasn't able to do much in his first start in place of Jay Cutler. He completed 9 of 17 passes, with only one reception going past 10 yards. Clausen accounted for just 63 passing yards in the 26-0 loss.
09/20/15 - QB Jimmy Clausen started 10 games for Carolina as a rookie in 2010, but if he starts for the Bears next week against Seattle, it will be just his second start in five seasons. He would get the call if Jay Cutler is not healthy enough to play.
09/01/15 - QB Jimmy Clausen suffered a concussion against Cincinnati and is day to day.
03/06/15 - QB Jimmy Clausen, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent March 10, signed a one-year contract with the Bears Friday (March 6).
Clausen joined the Bears in 2014 after spending his first four seasons with the Carolina Panthers.
Last season, he completed 26 of 48 attempts (54.2 percent) for 223 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in four appearances (one start).
In 17 games over five seasons, he has completed 52.7 percent of his passes (183 of 347) for 1,781 yards, five touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
03/05/15 - QB Jimmy Clausen, unrestricted FA update, went 1-9 starting for John Fox's Carolina team as a rookie, and it's unlikely he showed much then to warrant being a backup again for the Bears next season -- even if there are some similarites in what the offense will be next year to what Carolina and Denver ran under Fox.
